About Ateliera

Art should find its way
into the world.

Where emerging artists find their collectors.

Our Mission

Too much great art sits unseen in studios, dorm rooms, and storage spaces. We built Ateliera to change that — a simple way for emerging artists to reach collectors directly, without gallery gatekeepers or complicated logistics.

Art
What We Believe
01

Artists first

Every decision starts with "does this help artists?" Fair commissions, no hidden fees, real support. The platform works when artists succeed.

02

Radical transparency

No hidden markups. Collectors see the real price. Artists see their real earnings. Shipping costs are actual postal rates, not padded estimates.

03

Simplicity wins

Selling art shouldn't require a business degree. Upload, price, list — done. We handle the complexity so artists can focus on creating.

“We wanted to build the gallery that doesn't exist yet — one with no walls, no borders, and no gatekeepers.”

Our Story

Ateliera started with a simple observation: talented artists everywhere struggle to reach collectors, and collectors struggle to find authentic emerging work that hasn't already been priced out of reach.

We built a platform that removes the friction — real shipping quotes instead of guesswork, escrow protection on both sides of every transaction, and a virtual exhibition space that brings the gallery experience to anyone with a browser.

Founded in Stockholm. Built in Dubai. Made for artists and collectors worldwide.

Stockholm.
Origins

The eye is trained somewhere.
Mine was trained in Stockholm.

I grew up in a city where art was not kept behind velvet ropes. Stockholm in the late twentieth century was a place of long winters and longer conversations — kitchens where Carl Larsson hung beside a postcard from a friend, where the Skagen painters were spoken of as ancestors rather than as history.

You learned to look slowly. You learned that praxis mattered more than provenance, that the working studio — the atelier itself — was the place where the real argument happened. The gallery was secondary. The collector who understood the work was secondary. The work, and the artist's relationship to it, came first.

Ateliera is built on that inheritance. The name is a deliberate echo of atelier — the house of practice — because we believe a marketplace should sit in dialogue with the studio, not above it.

We resist the conventions of the white cube where they no longer serve. We hold every vernissage open to the world, not to a list. We treat the primary market as a place of discovery, not extraction. We measure ourselves not by hammer prices but by whether the artist can keep working — whether next year's monograph gets written, whether the next show gets hung.

We are building the long table, not the auction floor. Stockholm taught me the difference.
