Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Ateliera Gallery FZE LLC (“Ateliera”, “we”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the ateliera.art platform (the “Platform”), and how you can manage them.

This policy supplements our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform you agree to our use of cookies as described below. Where consent is required by UAE law for non-essential cookies, we obtain it through our cookie banner.

1. What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies are used to remember information about you and your interaction with a site. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, web beacons, pixels, and device fingerprints. In this policy we refer to all of these collectively as “cookies”.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. Without them, core features such as login, account security, payment processing, and fraud prevention cannot work. They do not require your consent under UAE law and cannot be disabled through our cookie banner.

  • Authentication and session: set by Supabase to keep you signed in and to maintain your session securely.
  • Security and fraud prevention: set by Cloudflare to protect the Platform from automated abuse, bots, and denial-of-service attacks.
  • Load balancing and routing: set by Vercel and Cloudflare to direct traffic to the nearest, healthiest server.
  • Payment processing: set by Stripe during checkout to prevent fraud and to securely tokenise payment information.
  • Cookie consent state: records your preferences so that we do not ask again on every page.

2.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation. They are enabled by default but may be disabled with some loss of functionality.

  • Display preferences: remember language, region, currency, and viewing-grid settings.
  • Recently viewed Works: show you Works you have looked at so you can return to them.
  • Wishlist state: remember Works you have saved when you are not logged in.

2.3 Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how Users interact with the Platform so we can improve the experience. The analytics data is aggregated and anonymised; we do not use it to identify individual Users.

  • Vercel Analytics: page views, referrers, basic device information, and performance metrics. No third-party advertising network is involved.
  • First-party event logging: internal records of feature usage to debug issues and prioritise improvements.

2.4 Marketing Cookies

We do not currently set third-party advertising or retargeting cookies. If we add them in the future, we will update this policy and obtain your explicit consent through the cookie banner before doing so.

3. Third-Party Services

The third parties named above set their own cookies in accordance with their own privacy and cookie policies, which apply alongside this policy for the relevant cookies:

  • Supabase (authentication and database) — supabase.com/privacy
  • Vercel (hosting and analytics) — vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • Cloudflare (security and CDN) — cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
  • Stripe (payment processing) — stripe.com/privacy

4. How Long Cookies Last

  • Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies remain on your device for a defined period, ranging from a few days (for transient preferences) to up to 24 months (for cookie consent state and authentication-refresh).
  • Third-party cookies are controlled by the third parties named above and follow their own retention rules.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

5.1 Cookie banner. When you first visit the Platform you will see a cookie banner. You can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customise your preferences by category. You can revisit your preferences at any time by clicking “Cookie settings” in the footer.

5.2 Browser controls. Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies. Each browser is different; consult the help section of your specific browser for instructions. Note that blocking all cookies will prevent essential features (including login) from working.

5.3 Do Not Track. Our Platform does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, because there is no industry consensus on how to implement them. We honour the consent preferences you set through our cookie banner.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as the Platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Effective” date at the top and, where appropriate, notified through the cookie banner or by email.
